This teacher class page is from Saint Bridget School in Massachusetts. The school ranges from pre-school to 8th grade. I checked out the two class pages for third grade and noticed almost identical set ups. Homework assignments, teacher info, spelling words, specials schedules, and hot links/resources are the main points available to whoever visits the class page. Both teachers have a link that takes the viewer to a paragraph or two about themselves as a person for the parent or student to see. One of the teachers includes a section for recommended books and the school calendar. Overall a very useful site for parents that isn't too revealing for the public's eyes.
There are several different kinds of software that can be used in the classroom including productivity software and classroom management software which fall under a bigger category called administrative software. Productivity software assists teachers' ability to perform professional tasks, such as tracking student information, building lesson plans, and computing grades. Word processing tools make developing lesson plans and communicating with other teachers much easier. Word processing and Evernote files help teachers to stay organized in the classroom. The most powerful tool to grade and keep records is spreadsheets because all they have to do is enter the grades and the spreadsheet does the calculation for them which just makes it easier on teachers and decreases possibility of human error.
The technology sandbox is home to many different kinds of educational technology including SMART Boards, Virtual Reality headsets, 3D printing, and many others. The SMART Board is the most practical classroom tool because it can be used in so many different ways. Rather than the teacher writing out equations or trying to come up with fun activities by themselves, they can use the SMART Board to get the students involved because there are many different programs that allow the students to come up to the board and play with it. It is good for the teacher as well because of all the tools available including shape, color, and number functions that teach children very basic skills, which is good for my classroom because I'll be in elementary school teaching the basics.
